Lonar crater is located in buldhana district in Amravati division of Maharastra. Every year about 30,000 – 1,50,000 meteors plunge towards Earth but non of them have managed to create an impact like Lonar. It is the only hypervelocity Crater on earth More than 52,000 years ago, formed due to the meteorite impact on basalt.

Daityasudan Temple is a03 tier Temple with ornate walls and graceful sculptures. There are exotic sculptures incarved on the walls depicting Raskrida which are similar to the Khajuraho Temple in Madhya Pradesh. The Ornate walls are full of sculptures like Raj Mudra of Hoysal king, Son of sun”Raivatak”, Persian Sun, Aditya Narayan, Dancing Ganesh, Shiva, Vishnu, Radha krishna, Poisnous Girl, Darpan Sundari, ram-Laxma-Sita, Indian Dragon, Rohini-Balram-Krutika, Kama Shilpa, chamunda devi, Dancing Shankar and many more narrating mind blowing mythological stories. The interior has 03 blockings i.e Garbha Gruha, Swarg mandap and Sabha Gruha.

It is really magical to see the cluster of 32 temples and 13 kundas, 17 monuments and 4 inscriptions with veer and sati stones in and outside of Lonar. ASI (Archaeological Survey of India) had protected 19 temple in lonar till now. Along with a small hike exploring Lonar Crater and exploring Daityasudan Temple, one may also visit Dhar of Lonar (Viraj Tirth), Paphareshwar Dhar, Sita Nhani, Bhasma hill and Yadneshwar, Ramgaya, Kamalja Devi Temple, Limbi Barav (Wayu Tirth), Sleeping Hanuman, Umbar Zira, Agasti Tirth and Ambar Lake.

Lonar Sarovar is home for 26 species of Flora, 30 species of birds, 03 species of reptiles and 09 species of Mammals. Lonar shelters Wild animals like Hyena, Langurs etc and is a perfect destination to find Peafowls.


5. Rajamata Jijai Birth Place aka Sindhkhed Raja :

Jalna is blessed with Rajamata Jijai Birthplace. Mother of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj took birth at Sindkhed, Jalna in Buldhana District on January 12, 1598. Maharashtra Government has maintained Sindhkhed Raja and had put the sculptures and ruins on display. The chambers narrate the story of the palace once stood there.


6. Lonar Crater Trek :
